| The British Computer Society (BCS) |
| The BCS Sri Lanka section (BCSSL) was established in 1996. The section has over 1000 corporate members (MBCS) and about 3000 student members. Around 150 members are Chartered Information Technology Practitioners (CITP)s. BCSSL counts more than 10 Fellow Members (FBCS) amongst its membership. The Parent body, the BCS is the industry body for IT professionals, and a Chartered Engineering Institution for Information Technology (IT). With members in over 100 countries around the world, the BCS is the leading professional and learned Society in the field of computers and information systems. |

| BCS conducts its own BCS Higher Education Qualifications in many countries. It was formerly known as BCS Professional Examinations. The levels are; |
- Professional Graduate Diploma in IT (equal to a British honours degree)
- Diploma in IT (equal to the second year of an honours degree)
- Diploma in Business Analysis (equal to the second year of an honours degree)
- Certificate in IT (equal to the first year of an honours degree)

| BCS also offers professional qualifications via its Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB). |
ISEB provides a wide range of qualifications for IT professionals covering major areas including Management, Development, Service Delivery and Quality.

| European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) |
| BCS is licensed to offer the ECDL qualification in the UK. |
|
| Advanced ECDL |
| The advanced course of ECDL ("Advanced ECDL") has four sections, each a qualification in its own right. Upon achieving all four advanced qualifications, the individual will receive a qualification as an "ECDL Expert" — in the UK, this confers upon the person Associate Membership of The British Computer Society, should that person wish to sign up to a code of conduct and join BCS. |
